What FranklinOS Is

FranklinOS ("Franklin", "we") is a personal intelligence system operated as a private family application. It is not a commercial product and does not sell or monetize user data in any way.

Information We Collect

When you use FranklinOS, we store the following data that you provide:

• Account information: Name, birthday, email address, and a 4-digit PIN (stored as a cryptographic hash, never in plaintext)
• Content you create: Chat messages, journal entries, to-do items, schedule events, stories, and "Know Me" responses
• Preferences: Theme choices, AI personality settings, and feature preferences

How We Use Your Data

Your data is used exclusively to:

• Provide your personalized Life OS experience
• Power AI chat conversations (messages are sent to Anthropic's Claude API for responses)
• Remember things you've shared to provide better, more personal interactions
• Send PIN reset emails if you request one

AI Processing

Chat messages are processed by Anthropic's Claude API. Anthropic's privacy policy applies to that processing. We send only the content needed for your conversation. Anthropic does not use API inputs for training.

Data Storage & Security

• All data is stored in an encrypted SQLite database on a private server
• PINs are cryptographically hashed and cannot be reversed
• All connections use HTTPS encryption via Cloudflare
• Daily automated backups protect against data loss
• Access to each person's data requires their unique PIN

Data Sharing

We do not share, sell, rent, or trade your personal information with any third parties. The only external service that receives your data is Anthropic (for AI chat processing), and only the content of your chat messages.

Children's Privacy

FranklinOS includes age-appropriate tiers for children. Content filters are applied based on age tier. Children's data receives the same protections as adult data. A parent or guardian manages children's accounts.

Your Rights

You can:

• Access all your data through your dashboard
• Request deletion of your account and all associated data
• Change your PIN at any time
• Update your email and personal information

Data Retention

Your data is retained as long as your account is active. If you request deletion, all your data will be permanently removed from the database and backups within 30 days.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as FranklinOS evolves. The "last updated" date at the top will reflect any changes.
